Can Kumon be individualized? PLEASE HELP?!?

My parents and I agreed that I should find an extra program to help in more advanced/critical comprehension and inferences in READING. But from what I've heard, it sounds like Kumon isn't something that can be individualized to fit needs. Is that true? It sounds like you take a placement test and are placed in generally low levels, and am assuming that critical thinking and comprehension/inferences isn't till later. So I'm asking that if I really just want to focus on the comprehension/inferences (I REALLY don't want to be stuck doing elementary stuff because I'm an incoming freshman and I have always gotten an A in English, Honors too, and would just like an extra boost in the specific things I need help with) is it even worth it? Because couldn't it be years and a lot of money by the time I get there? And are there better programs for individual needs?
